As some of you will be aware plastic moulding requires high amounts of power. The raw products have to be heated quickly and then forced into moulds at temperature and then cooled. As a high user of power Class Plastics has been hit with a large increase to production costs. Unfortunately we have had to pass some of these costs on, but the good news is that it won’t be all of it and we expect to be able to reduce this in the future.
For those of you who have visited us at our new site in Truganina (and been impressed!), you will know that we have significantly increased the size and scope of our premises. To reduce our use of power Class Plastics is in the process of becoming part of the clean energy scheme, with one of the aims to invest in solar power to reduce the drain on power and to reduce our carbon footprint. We will also continue to invest in new technologies in the future to reduce power requirements further.
