In 2017, Class Plastics, with support from Beon Energy Solutions, signed an Environmental Upgrade Agreement (EUA), an initiative of the Wyndham City Council and the Sustainable Melbourne Fund, to assist Wyndham businesses in financing carbon reduction projects. This grant enabled us to install a 365-kilowatt solar panel system at our factory in Truganina, Victoria. Over 1,230 solar panels were installed over the factory roof covering 5,500 square meters.
Reducing our carbon footprint
Our massive 365-kilowatt solar panel generates more than 490 MWh of renewable energy and reduces more than 530 tonnes of our carbon footprint per annum, thereby helping us to achieve over $90,000 in energy savings annually.
Class Plastics prides itself on our commitment to environmental sustainability. As an industry leader, we are continuously on the lookout for innovative ways to improve environmental outcomes for all and contribute to a cleaner, greener and healthier environment.
